Massage Therapy is a holistic approach to wellness. It involves the manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons, and ligaments), to enhance a person’s health and well-being. Massage is used to reduce stress and anxiety, relax muscles, rehabilitate injuries, reduce pain, and promote overall health and wellness. Depending on the client’s needs and preferences, the following types of massage may be offered:
Relaxation/Swedish Massage
The most commonly known massage technique. A slow, relaxing technique, Swedish massage promotes relaxation and relieves muscle tension and joint stiffness.
Deep Tissue
This massage is intended to work the deeper muscles of the body. It is performed slowly with deeper pressure, working through layers of muscles to help remove adhesions in the tissue.
Specific Work
Intended for the person who is not looking for a full body massage, but has an area of concern such as a shoulder or leg that could use some attention.
Aromatherapy
Through the use of essential oils, you can experience increased benefits from your massage. Essential oils will be chosen to target your needs or preferences. Do you need to kick that cold that won't go away? Would you like to be able to relax? How about sleep better? Essential oils can help! ($10 add-on)
Raindrop Therapy
The use of essential oils (aromatherapy) is a natural way to help our bodies recover from stress and injury. Raindrop Therapy incorporates the use of therapeutic grade essential oils with massage techniques, reflexology, and moist heat to help our bodies heal and relax. This treatment is harmonizing, rejuvenating and relaxing, as it supports the body systems on a physical and emotional level.
Sports Massage
This particular massage is used to help prevent injuries, to prepare the body for athletic activity, maintain it in optimal condition, and to help with recovery from workouts and injuries.
Relaxing Foot Scrub
Our feet get us where we need to go every day! This service treats your feet and lower legs to a rejuvenating sugar scrub--soothing sore feet, softening rough skin, loosening tight arches, and improving flexibility. Warm towels are applied next to relax and soothe your muscles, followed by a relaxing massage of legs and feet with nourishing body butter to leave you feeling soft, hydrated and relaxed. Approximately 20 minutes; can be combined with a massage if desired.
Massage Cupping/Vacuum Therapy
Massage cupping can provide a gentle approach to many common conditions, and quickly produce results that are often remarkable. "Cups" are used to create a soothing suction on the surface of the body that reaches deep into the tissues. The techniques are safe and comfortable for use on children, adults, and seniors.
