Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a holistic health technique that stems from the traditional Chinese practice in which practitioners stimulate specific points on the body by inserting fine, single-use needles into the skin to alleviate pain and treat a wide variety of physical and mental/emotional conditions.  Stimulating these acupuncture points corrects imbalances in the flow of qi (energy) through channels known as meridians.  The initial visit is 90 minutes (fee $110) and involves a thorough interview to gather information regarding the chief complaint and other medical histories.  An examination that involves observing the tongue, palpating the pulse, and performing orthopedic testing is also conducted.  Return visits are 60 minutes (fee $75).  Treatment sessions may include the following techniques:

Tui Na This method involves the use of hand techniques to massage the soft tissue of the body, acupressure techniques to directly affect the flow of Qi, and manipulation techniques to realign the musculoskeletal and ligamentous relationships.    

Cupping & Gua Sha Local suction or scraping is created on the skin to help mobilize blood and qi flow and unblock the meridians of the body to promote healing.
